Project Type: Public, Government, BRAC
Location: Fort Detrick, Maryland

Satellite Earth Terminal Station (SETS) is a $11.7 million, 34,000-square foot facility for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District. It will replace a deteriorated, out of date building with a larger, permanent state of the art building with emergency backup systems to support the current and emerging Defense Satellite Communication missions.

The project includes network operations and maintenance support areas, secure conference/training areas, arms rooms, redundant power, air conditioning, and auxiliary emergency generator, raised floor, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). The construction of a temporary protective enclosure to protect sensitive communication equipment during construction and demolition activities is included, as well as force protection/antiterrorism measures. The project will be built to LEED for New Construction silver certification standards.
