When St. Elizabeth’s was designated a National Historic Landmark (NHL), there was 70 buildings located on the 176-acre West Campus, 62 of which were identified as contributing to the NHL. Of those 62 buildings, 52 will be reused in the development of the site. Eight of those approved for demolition are greenhouses in significant disrepair that cannot be adaptively reused. Since approval of the Final Master Plan in January 2009, seven buildings have been demolished in preparation for the construction of a new U.S. Coast Guard headquarters.

Repair Building 2002

Repaired the structural damage to the south stairwell of Building 2002 located in Quantico, Virginia. The scope of work included the columns, beams, slabs, exterior brick, interior concrete deterioration, mason ties, exterior paint and stucco.

The Quantico Student Quarters on the Marine Base Quantico is a design-build of 82,000 sq. ft. dormitory with 101 two-bedroom units for The Basic School. The structure is precast concrete plank bearing on CMU walls, with CMU partition walls and metal trusses. The building has blast-resistant windows, brick veneer, and a metal roof. A green construction project, it was built to LEED Silver specifications. The second phase includes two 129-unit dormitory buildings and a state-of-the-art instruction facility.

This project was the renovation of Building 183 for the A-12 litigation team at the Washington Navy Yard. The work to be performed provides for renovation and associated site improvements in order to accommodate a new tenant. The building currently houses three groups of people, all of whom were relocated prior to construction. Secured facility will be built to accommodate the A-12 Litigation Team. The A-12 Trail Team will be the sole occupant of Building 183, occupying all four floors. Provided a construction management staff on site and provided carpenters to complete the rough carpentry for the interior renovation.

King Hall Galley, a $40.9 million firm-fixed price project, is a design-build construction contract for a complete renovation to include revised food preparation processes and equipment. A temporary food service facilities will be provided while the galleys undergoes renovations. Unlike most universities, the Naval Academy feeds all of their 4,500+ students at once during all three meals daily. Built in 1909 to accommodate 1,800 midshipmen, King Hall grew with the size of the brigade. In the 1950s, it was expanded to its present size.
